It seems like new social media platforms are popping up all over the place these days, but one platform has stood the test of time is Instagram. This photo sharing and  visual blogging app is popular with all ages, but recently it has become popular with younger and yonger kids. For children and teens, it is a new and fun way to socialize and share directly from their phone.

The ease of Instagram makes sharing what kids are up to only a few tap away on their phone. Kids can be their own photographer and photo editor by using their phone and then cropping, editing and adding filters to pictures. Kids and teens are also able to interact with their friends by commenting on their posts. 

For parents, who are concerned about their kids and Instagram, there are a few things to go over. When it comes to Instagram safety, parents should talk to their kids about what photo content is suitable for their age to post. It is recommended that children keep their profiles on "private", which can be accessed in the settings section of the app.

Instagram is a free sharing app that allows users to take photos on their phone, and then share this photos on other social network. Initially, Instagram was designed for only Ipad, Iphone and Ipod Touch. After that, Instagram had a version for Android in April, 2012.

 Now, Instagram allow Android to be released on Google Play. Instagram was found by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger.

In October 6, 2010, Instagram was released on App Store. 

In December 2014, co- founder Kevin Systrom announced that there were more 300 milions users logged in the app each month. Instagram offered some rules for users that required users must be over 13 years-old. This app also banned photo posted with content related to violence, nudity, pornography and some responsibilities for users account. Many stars and celebrities have an Instagram account to share photos, videos about art products also private lives for fans. Time magazines ranked Instagram on list of 50 best apps running on Android in 2013. In late 2016, Instagram updated "Stories" and " Live" for Global users.
